Jeter need a MRI

Derek Jeter waited nine months and 92 games
before returning to the Yankees’ lineup on
Thursday. While Jeter’s 2013 season debut was
productive — he was 1-for-4 with one run
scored and an RBI as the designated hitter —
his next Yankees appearance could be delayed.
Hours after Jeter received a standing ovation in
his first at-bat, the Yankees announced their
captain hurt his quadriceps running to first in his
third at-bat and would require a magnetic
resonance imaging exam. Jeter left the game in
the eighth inning before his fifth at-bat. He said
he expects to play Friday.
JAFFE: Why Derek Jeter returned to the
Yankees ahead of schedule
Jeter’s long absence began when he broke his
ankle in Game 1 of the American League
Championship Series against the Tigers in
October. His wait was extended when doctors
detected another small break in April.

Game ended. Yankees won!
