Baltimore understand

Help me to understand. Help me to understand how hurting and potentially killing unarmed innocent bystanders, lighting innocent victims cars, houses, places of business, etc. will help ease the pain an entire country is dealing with?
Help me to understand how two wrongs all of the sudden make a right? Are we fighting for justice? Are we fighting for equality?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but did MLK throw bricks and trash cans at defenseless women, just because they weren't african american?
I know I'm commenting on a very volatile and sensitive subject, but I'm doing so from a place of understanding. I understand that justice needs to be served to those who were meant to protect and to serve, but chose to have a god complex and abusive their power. I understand change needs to occur. I understand that we live in a world where equality still isn't where it should be. To me, everyone is the same. I don't care what color your skin is, what age you are, whether you like the same sex, no sex, or any combination. It is not my place to judge or condemn.
I don't believe I'm better than anyone else. But I can not understand how this chaos and violence is somehow supposed to make things right? If you want change, why are you tearing down a city that is already hurting? If you want equality, why are you stooping to the same lows as the people you're rioting against?
I can't seem to wrap my head around the fact that America, believed to be the most free and democratic, dream come true-making land can take so many steps backwards. Today is a sad day to be alive. Because it has come to this.
I fear for the police officers who have done nothing wrong, who actually choose daily to uphold the law but will be condemned by a "guilty by association" judgement.
I fear for the african american's who will be targeted (and have been) by those who actually ARE guilty.
I fear for our country, and the message this is sending to our younger generation.
I hope that this comes across the way it is intended, but inevitably it will not be. That is the cost of speaking my mind, and I'm ok with that. Just know that I love you all, I respect your lives, I respect your right to feel free in all areas. I just hope no more innocent lives are taken.
I hope the government and those who can create new policies and changes without violence, step up and do so before more damage is done. mlk showed us all what to do i guess ppl think freedom of talking they feel the need
