On this day, we remember the thousands of fellow Americans killed on 9/11/01. But I hope we never forget the bravery and courage displayed on that day by so many firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and regular Americans. Pictured here is FDNY Ladder 118 crossing the Brooklyn Bridge as they responded to the World Trade Center. This was the last run they ever made. All six members of Ladder 118 were killed in the line of duty. Some of the men from Ladder 118 were found within a few feet of each other, and rest eternally side by side in a New York cemetery.
