The Therapy
The Therapy™ Cool Flex™ Ablation Catheter and IBI 1500T9-CP v.1.7 Cardiac Ablation Generator have recently been approved by the FDA. The Therapy Cool Flex Ablation Catheter is a steerable, deflectable, irrigated catheter (a long, thin, flexible tube) used to treat a certain kind of abnormal heart rhythm (arrhythmia) called typical atrial flutter by finding the source of the rhythm disturbance and destroying (ablating) small areas of the heart tissue. The catheter takes energy from an external source (the IBI1500T9-CP V1.7 Cardiac Ablation Generator) to a point in the right side of the heart. The Therapy™ Cool Flex™ Ablation Catheter has a laser-cut electrode tip which is different than the previous model of the device. The laser-cut pattern allows the tip to be flexible and provides a more uniform distribution of saline fluid to the ablation site.

A telenovela star and former Miss Venezuela was shot and killed in Venezuela late Monday, along with her husband. The couple's five-year-old daughter was shot in the leg, but survived.
Monica Spear, 29, represented Venezuela at the Miss Universe pageant in 2005 where she finished as the fourth runner-up.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is warning consumers to avoid products marketed as dietary supplements that claim to prevent, treat or cure concussions and other traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). These claims are not backed by scientific evidence and FDA is concerned that false assurances of a faster recovery will convince someone who has suffered a concussion to resume activities too early to be safe.
In December 2013, FDA issued a warning letter to Star Scientific, Inc., for marketing its product Anatabloc with claims to treat TBIs.

LOS ANGELES—The A&E channel said it's reversing its decision to drop "Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson from the show for his remarks about gays. In a statement Friday, A&E said it decided to bring Robertson back after discussions with the Robertson family and "numerous advocacy groups."
The channel had put Robertson on what it called "hiatus" following his comments in a magazine article about how the Bible informs his view of gays.
His comments were slammed by groups including GLAAD, the gay media watch organization. But A&E's decision drew a backlash from those who said they supported Robertson's comments and others who defended him on the basis of freedom of speech.
